March for Science NYC

The Adelphi group will meet at the steps of Lincoln Center Plaza, between West 63rd and 64th Street (near Columbus Avenue)

This year, on Earth Day, scientists around the globe will gather in Washington, DC, New York City, and countless other cities to bring attention to the societal good served by science.

Adelphi’s Faculty Senate and President Riordan support the non-partisan principles and goals of the March as consistent with Adelphi’s values and mission for academic excellence, and encourage Adelphi faculty, staff and students to stand with us in defense of science and scientific integrity.

Scientists, both academic and professional, administrators, and concerned citizens have pledged to join this peaceful proclamation in New York City. They include students, researchers and faculty from Stony Brook, CUNY, NYU, Cornell and Columbia University, members and staff of the New York Academy of Sciences, American Chemical Association, Paleontological Society, Society for Neuroscience, Sigma Xi, American Society for Cell Biology, Genetics Society, UAW, SACNAS and Earth Day Network.

Coronavirus Update: As New York is on a "pause" for social distancing purposes, all in-person events for the next several weeks have been converted to online, postponed or canceled. Please check this page as information will be updated as possible—and call ahead before any upcoming in-person events until further notice. Thanks.
